Blackball

Blackball is a distinctive variation of the felted wool low-loop structure, designed to showcase three colours of your choice. Two highlight colours are tufted vertically using a specialised programme that varies the loop heights, while the main colour is tufted horizontally over them, partially obscuring the highlights to create a subtle flecked effect. The rug is then tip-shorn, lightly cutting selected loops to produce a dynamic mix of loop and cut pile stitches, resulting in a rich, multi-hued surface.
