Colour Poms

Choosing the colour/s is an important part in the custom rug & carpet process, and we know this can be a little tricky. We have a wide range of standard colours, available online or in a colour folder in the showroom. To view the selected colours in person, the first step is to request colour poms from us.
Colour pom is a small ball/tuft of wool (or other fibres) in your chosen colour. This can be made up of a single colour or multiple colours, depending on the chosen rug style. Different styles and designs stipulate a different number of colours and fibres.

Colour poms are complimentary.

Colour Chips

Colour chips are small tufted samples made of the felted wool yarns, displaying one colour in two tufting finishes – cut pile and loop pile. This is a very useful sample if you want to see each colour tufted and not just loose threads, perhaps if you are deciding which finish you would like to use.
A loop pile and a level cut pile in a colour chip will reflect the light in a different way, and the intensity of the dyed yarn also changes.
The combination of loop and cut pile finish is often used in subtle patterns as this is an ideal way to have one colour, but have a slight tone-in-tone effect for your palette.

Colour chips are complimentary, but we request you return them to us.

Tufted Samples

A tufted sample is the final step in the sampling process and is a uniquely prepared sample in 300 x 300mm size. All stock samples that we have in the showroom are also available for loan and these are a good starting point for further customisation of your rug or carpet.

Stock tufted samples are complimentary, but we request you return them to us. Custom tufted samples may require a charge, see below for more details.

Sample Policy

Below charges are per project.

  1. Eden Studio tufted samples from current sample library – free of charge.
    All samples to be returned at client’s expense.
  2. Custom tufted sample to be prepared in a chosen colour and Eden Studio standard style,
    • 1st sample free of charge in *available yarn colour;
    • 1st sample in custom colour match or unavailable yarn colour $160.00 + GST per colour;
    • 2nd and consecutive samples $80.00 + GST in *available yarn colour;
    • 2nd and consecutive samples $160.00 + GST per colour for custom colour match or unavailable yarn colour.
  3. Sample charges for new style development,
    • 1st sample $80.00 + GST in *available yarn colours;
    • 2nd and consecutive samples in *available yarn colour $160.00 + GST;
    • custom colour match – additional charge of $160.00 + GST per colour.

*available yarn colour means the right yarn in the right colour that we currently have in stock and we do not have to order specifically for sampling.

Timing
For sample preparation in Eden Studio standard style and available yarn colours, please allow 1-5 working days. For custom colours and unavailable yarn colours, please allow approx. 6 weeks.

Sample Size
Standard sample is 300 x 300mm with cut edges. For rolled and taped edges samples and custom size, there is an additional charge of $80.00 + GST per each.
